I got into computers back in the early 1980s — before there was anywhere to go for help, and long before "learn to code" was something you could search for. My first computer was a Commodore 64, no hard disk, just a floppy and a tape drive, and it's where I wrote my first programs. From there I moved up to an IBM PC Model 5150 — still no hard drive, but now dual floppy drives. If something broke or didn't work the way I wanted, I had to figure it out myself, so that's what I did: building machines from the ground up and teaching myself to program alongside them. By the mid-1980s I was already tutoring others on how to use their computers. I've been coding, building, and troubleshooting software ever since. Along the way I earned a Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems from Penn State University, and after decades of hands-on experience running Wolfe Computer Services, I founded Wolfe Software LLC to focus on what I've always liked best: building software.
I live in the Sewickley area, about 15 minutes outside Pittsburgh. Outside of the business, I'm the evangelist of Outreach Christian Church, a church plant my family and I started in Coraopolis, PA, and I stay active in the community — teaching technology classes at the Coraopolis Community Development Center and taking part in local events like Coraopolis Youth Creations' Back-to-School Bash.
